Beyond the perfect photo

A campsite can look very different in a photograph and in memory. For this proposed story, we would like to hear about the details that did not make the picture.

A change of plan, a long wait or a small comfort can give a reader details a carefully arranged scene leaves out.

Keep it specific

Write from your own notes and memories. If weather mattered, say what you observed and what you actually measured. Make it clear when you are estimating.

If gear is part of the story, disclose how you obtained it and any relationship with its maker. One night is one night; the story should not turn it into a sweeping performance claim.

An open invitation

There is room for stories that end early, change direction or turn into a different outing altogether. Share the experience without making it into advice for every reader.

This is a sample brief awaiting a real contributor. It does not describe a Trailscale camping trip.

What’s your story?

A few honest details from your own time outdoors can be a starting point.
